HUCE pioneers the training of talented STEM engineers: A breakthrough in high-quality human resources for the new era.

For generations, the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has been associated with symbols of courage, intellect, and timeless architectural achievements. But today, at the threshold of the digital age, HUCE not only looks to the past with pride but is also writing a new, equally proud chapter : pioneering the implementation of the Talented Engineer Training Program in STEM fields. This is not just an educational project, but a strategic solution to the nation's high-quality workforce problem, a testament to the stature of a leading institution.

Correct orientation, in accordance with laws and trends.

The implementation of the Talented Engineers program in STEM fields demonstrates HUCE's responsiveness to the global trend of digital and green transformation. This is a key direction to meet the requirements of the knowledge economy, where skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics play a pivotal role.

The training program of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering does not stem from a disjointed idea, but rather concretizes the strategic thinking of the Party and State leaders. In particular, General Secretary To Lam's orientation to "prioritize STEM education" affirms the importance of the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in enhancing national competitiveness. Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation also clearly indicates the importance of paying attention to, investing in, and promoting innovative education, STEM education, and digital transformation in schools. This demonstrates the strong commitment of the Party and State to investing in the future, unleashing creative potential, and nurturing a passion for science and technology in the young generation of Vietnam.

In the flow of socio -economic history , every nation seeking breakthroughs needs "pillars" of infrastructure and elite human resources. Vietnam is currently facing a "golden moment" to transform the nation's image with mega-projects of 20th-century scale . National infrastructure is facing unprecedented "mega-projects." As Vietnam pours trillions of dong into transportation, energy, and urban development, the construction industry demands a revolution in human resources. In the whirlwind of AI, while many professions worry about replacement, civil engineers – with their combination of sharp STEM thinking and the ability to handle complex field situations – remain a solid bulwark. AI can... Designing a blueprint is one thing, but only the intellect and heart of an engineer can breathe life into those concrete blocks, ensuring safety and sustainability for millions of people. STEM-oriented training helps engineers not only excel in traditional engineering but also apply AI and Big Data as supporting tools, making them an irreplaceable generation of workers.

The STEM program at HUCE will be the "passport" for Vietnamese students to confidently step out into the world, bringing Vietnamese thinking and capabilities to conquer the most demanding markets, requiring the highest level of engineering skills and expertise.

A heartfelt commitment from "The Builder"

The Hanoi University of Civil Engineering's Talented Engineers Program in STEM fields is designed for 5 years, with 180 credits, and is implemented across three key disciplines: Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering (Transportation Construction Engineering), and Architecture. These are also the pillars for building the nation.

The faculty – 100% PhD holders – are not only teachers who impart knowledge but also inspire passion. Students are equipped with critical thinking, innovation, and the ability to adapt to a global environment, proficient in foreign languages and integrating digital technology into their professional practice…to achieve outstanding professional competence.

The core objective of the project is not only to train highly skilled engineers, but also individuals with professional ethics, social responsibility, and a lifelong learning mindset. This will be the key workforce to carry out the mission of scientific research, technological innovation, and knowledge transfer closely linked to social practice.

Today, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is not only a symbol of tradition, but also a symbol of breakthrough, leading the trend in engineering education in Vietnam. The Talented Engineers program in STEM fields is the most meaningful gift the University gives to the younger generation – those who will join this university in building a strong, modern, and sustainable Vietnam in the era of national progress.

We believe that the talented engineers trained at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering will be the ones to continue writing the golden history, so that every concrete block, every blueprint is imbued with national pride and the wisdom of the times. And we have every right to be proud because each student graduating from this program will carry within them the "genes" of a construction engineer: steadfast, creative, and highly responsible.
